Vintage Lotus Double Strand Graduated Simulated Pearl Necklace Boxed 38cm
Desscription
An elegant vintage Lotus Pearls double-strand necklace, believed to date from approximately the 1950s or 1960s.
The necklace comprises two graduated strands of creamy simulated pearls, increasing attractively in size towards the centre. The shorter strand sits slightly above the second, creating the classic double-row appearance associated with mid-century formal jewellery.
It measures approximately 38 cm or 15 inches in length, making it a short, close-fitting necklace. It is finished with a decorative silver-coloured clasp set with clear stones. The reverse of the clasp carries the Lotus name.
Presented in a fitted period case marked:
“Lotus Pearls (Simulated) – Regd Trade Mark – Made in England.”
A particularly attractive example of vintage English costume jewellery, suitable for wearing, collecting or display.
Condition Report
The necklace is in good vintage condition. Both strands appear securely strung, with no missing pearls. The simulated pearls retain a pleasing creamy colour and lustre.
There are some minor surface marks, light rubbing and small signs of wear around a few of the bead holes, consistent with previous use. The decorative clasp is present and shows some light age-related wear to the metal.
The fitted case has noticeable discolouration and spotting to the interior lining, with rubbing and wear around the exterior edges. The Lotus branding remains clear and readable.
