Vintage 1960s Gold Tone Green Cabochon Rhinestone Floral Spray Brooch
A striking vintage costume jewellery brooch, dating from approximately the 1950s or 1960s and designed as an abstract floral spray.
The dimensional gold-tone setting is formed from layers of finely textured curling leaves and stems. At its centre is a large domed green cabochon with an attractive marbled appearance, surrounded by smaller green cabochons and sparkling faceted green rhinestones.
The raised stones and sweeping leaves give the brooch considerable depth and movement. It is a particularly decorative mid-century design with rich emerald-green colouring.
The reverse is fitted with a traditional pin and rollover safety clasp. A small impressed mark appears on the back, although it is not sufficiently clear to identify confidently.
Condition Report
Good vintage condition. All the green cabochons and rhinestones appear to be present and securely set. The large central cabochon has some light surface marks visible under close examination. There is minor wear and age-related variation to the gold-tone finish, principally around the raised edges and extremities. The pin and safety clasp are complete and fasten correctly.
