Vintage Mother of Pearl Rolled Gold Gentleman’s Dress Set Boxed Art Deco
A handsome vintage gentleman’s evening dress set, dating to approximately the 1930s–1940s.
The set comprises a pair of double-sided cufflinks, four matching shirt studs and two smaller collar studs. Each piece has a faceted octagonal mother-of-pearl face set within a warm gold-coloured surround. Four removable fittings for the shirt studs are also included.
Presented in its original fitted black case with cream satin lining, bearing the label:
“ROLLED GOLD – MADE IN ENGLAND”
An attractive and unusually complete period dress set, ideal for black-tie or formal wear, theatrical costume, or as a gentleman’s vintage accessory.
The dress set is in good vintage condition. The mother-of-pearl panels are complete, with no chips or losses. The set is in original untouched condition, they have not been polished or restored. The backs are tarnished and the two small collar studs show signs of loss/discolour to the back. They do not look like they have ever been worn. The original fitted case remains present and closes correctly. It has exceptionally light exterior wear, while the cream satin lining is good. Please note that the rolled-gold designation appears on the case label. Dress studs.
